Overview

The Provider Contracting Supervisor is a member and leader of the Provider Contracting Department, which has responsibility for preparing employee contracts for physicians and other clinical employees (collectively, “providers”). This includes, but is not limited to:  coordinating the new hire contracting process of providers after hand-off from the Recruiting Team; preparation of employment agreements based on templates and customizing those agreements as appropriate; handling the re-contracting and amendment of existing provider contracts; maintaining and updating templates; answering questions from potential provider candidates and their attorneys, and internal NAPA departments; updating and maintaining provider contracting information and tracking and reporting on that data; working on special projects as requested by the Legal Department related to contracting. 

 

The Provider Contracting Supervisor supervises Provider Contracting Specialists and works closely with the Recruiting Team, the Credentialing Team, the Legal Department, and the Client Services Department.

 

The position requires a high level of professionalism, strong written and verbal communication skills, experience managing a team, and excellent time management skills.

Position Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Drafting contracts, amendments, and letter agreements for clinical new hires, existing employees, and independent contractors; obtaining proper approvals as required by departmental standards; answering inquiries and following up with candidates, clinical leaders, senior management, and internal departments; negotiating terms and making revisions; coordinating and facilitating the contract execution process; and preparing termination letters in accordance with provider contract requirements.
  • Management of the Provider Contracting Team.
  • Participation in weekly multi-team meetings, representing the Provider Contracting Team.
  • Data management duties including maintaining accurate information in SharePoint for each clinical provider.
  • Tracking and reporting of contracting data, outstanding contracts and amendments, expiring contracts, terminations, processes and overall production and productivity.
  • Creating queries and custom ad-hoc reports in SharePoint as required and requested; creating and maintaining standard monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
  • Responding to inquiries from Legal Department, senior management, site chiefs and internal departments.
  • Administrative duties including composing correspondence, filing, data entry, file set-up, file maintenance and organization.

 


QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Significant experience with preparation of employment contracts with a good understanding of contract terminology and the ability to interpret and discuss complex contracting issues with candidates and their attorneys.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing a specialized team.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven business environment, with a high focus on accuracy.
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office products, including Word, Excel and SharePoint.
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

Bachelor's Degree required.  A minimum of eight years of related experience as part of an employment contracting team preferred.
